2. General information on data processing
We process users’ personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. We delete or block data as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies and no statutory retention obligations prevent this. Your data is only passed on to third parties as described in this policy or where we are legally required to do so.
3. Hosting and server log files
Our website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, [address as stated in the STRATO imprint, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany]. Data is processed in data centers located in Germany.
When you access our website, data is processed automatically, in particular your IP address, the date and time of access, the page accessed, the referrer URL, and browser and operating system information. This processing serves to deliver the website and to detect and defend against attacks. IP addresses are stored for this purpose for a maximum of seven days.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of our website). We have concluded a data processing agreement with STRATO pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
4. Cookies and consent management
We use the WordPress plugin Complianz to obtain and manage your consent to non-essential cookies and external services. Your choice is stored in a cookie on your device so that the consent request does not appear again on subsequent visits.
The legal basis for cookies and services that require your consent is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). For technically necessary cookies, Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR applies.
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future or change your selection by clicking the “Manage consent” button. Further information can be found in our Cookie Policy.
5. Contact (form, email, telephone)
If you contact us via the contact form, by email, or by telephone, we process the data you provide (name, telephone number, email address, content of your message) in order to handle your request and to contact you by email or telephone. The data from the contact form is transmitted to us by email. Providing the fields marked as mandatory in the form is required; otherwise we cannot process your request.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract or its preparation, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in answering inquiries).
We delete the data once your request has been fully processed and no statutory retention obligations (e.g. under commercial and tax law) prevent this.
6. Google Maps
On our contact page we embed a map service provided by Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The map is only loaded if you consent to the category “Marketing”. In doing so, in particular your IP address and browser information are transmitted to Google; a transfer to servers in the USA is possible. [Where data is transferred to the USA, this is done on the basis of the European Commission’s adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified. In addition, the transfer relies on your consent before the map is loaded.]
The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw it at any time via “Manage consent”. Further information can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
7. Fonts
The fonts used on our website are loaded from our own server. No connection is made to servers of Google or other providers.
8. Language switching (Polylang)
Our website is available in German and English. We use the WordPress plugin Polylang for multilingual functionality. It stores the language of the most recently visited page (e.g. “de” or “en”) in a cookie named “pll_language” so that your chosen language is displayed on your next visit. The cookie contains no other personal data and is stored for one year.
The legal basis is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a user-friendly language selection).
9. Protection against unauthorized login attempts
To protect our administration area, we use the WordPress plugin “Limit Login Attempts” to store the IP addresses of failed login attempts. This serves to defend against attacks on our website. The stored IP addresses are deleted once a month.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in the security of our website).
10. External links (Facebook, Instagram, mobile.de, Google Maps)
Our website contains links to Facebook and Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland), to mobile.de (mobile.de GmbH), and to Google Maps. These are plain links; no plugins from these providers are embedded. Data is only transmitted once you click a link. From that point on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
– Access to your processed data (Art. 15 GDPR)
– Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
– Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
– Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
– Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
– Withdrawal of any consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
Right to object: Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). You may object to direct marketing at any time.

The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen), Kavalleriestraße 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
To exercise your rights, an informal message to the contact details above is sufficient.
12. Currentness
This privacy policy is current as of October 2026. We will update it if our website or the legal requirements change.
